Add a Touch of Colour to Office 365

Changing the Colour Scheme
The colour scheme in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook 365 can be changed. The most obvious change will be the colour of the Title Bar in each of the programs. The default colour is set to White or sometimes System Settings. There are only five colours: Dark Grey, Black, White, Use System Settings or Colourful. The Colourful option is not particularly colourful; it will simply make the screen a little bluer in Word and Outlook, greener in Excel, and more orange in PowerPoint, which is better than no colour at all.

  • From within Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Outlook, click the File Tab to display the Backstage View
  • Select the Options Command
  • The Options Box will appear on the screen

  • Ensure the General Category is selected in the pane on the left
  • Scroll down to locate the Personalise Your Copy of Microsoft Office Section
  • Pick the colour required in the Office Theme Box – the Colourful option will make the screen a little more colourful
  • Click the OK Button when complete
