New Keyboard Shortcuts for Chat in Microsoft Teams

Microsoft has created some new keyboard shortcuts for navigating around a chat conversation in Microsoft Teams. It is now possible to move up and down through a conversation using keys on the keyboard. You can also quickly navigate to the New Message Box using a keyboard shortcut.

Navigating a Chat Conversation
• Select the Chat Section on the menu on the left side of the Teams Window
• Click onto the Chat conversation with the mouse
• Press the Up Arrow or Down Arrow on the keyboard to navigate up or down through the messages in the conversation

Jumping to the New Message Box in a Chat Conversation
• Select the Chat Section on the menu on the left side of the Teams Window
• Click onto the Chat conversation with the mouse
• Press Ctrl + Shift + R to quickly navigate to the New Message Box
