Pop-Out a Chat Conversation in Microsoft Teams – NEW FEATURE
Microsoft is continuously expanding and improving the features available in Microsoft Teams. It is now possible to focus on a one-to-one or group chat by popping it out into its own window. You can pop-out as many chats as you like and position them on the screen as you please. At this time, this feature is currently only available in the desktop app.
There are many ways of popping-out a chat as follows:
Pop-Out a Chat using the 3-Dot Menu
• Select Chat from the menu on the left side of the Teams window
• Position the mouse over the chat to pop-out
• Click the 3-Dot Menu, then click Pop Out Chat
• A new window will appear on the screen containing the chat
Pop-Out a Chat using the Pop-Out Chat Icon
• Select Chat from the menu on the left side of the Teams window
• Position the mouse over the chat to pop-out
• Select the Pop-Out Chat icon
• A new window will appear on the screen containing the chat
Pop-Out a Chat using the Pop-Out Chat Button
• Select Chat from the menu on the left side of the Teams window
• Select the chat to pop-out
• Click the Pop-Out Chat Button located in the top right corner of the Teams window
• A new window will appear on the screen containing the chat
Pop-Out a Chat from a Profile Picture
• From anywhere in Teams, double-click the Profile Picture of the person you want to chat with
• A new window will appear on the screen containing the chat
Pop-Out a Chat from the Command Box
• Click into the Command Box located in the top centre of the Title Bar of the Microsoft Teams window
• Type /pop, then press Enter on the keyboard
• A list of available chats will appear
• Select the chat to pop-out
• A new window will appear on the screen containing the chat
